Fundación Dédalo, host of the third meeting of the Knowbrid European project

The third meeting of the Knowbrid European project was held on 5-6 November in the locality of Tudela (Navarre). The event brought together the Italian, Czech, Spanish and Turkish representatives of the project .

‘Knowbrid: Bridging the generation gap’ is an initiative involving Fundación Dédalo among other partners. The objective of the initiative is to provide tools for elder people to fight social exclusion through the access to and training in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

This project falls within the Lifelong Learning Programme of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain, and is co-financed by the European Union.

The initiative has brought together partners from the Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey and Spain, who are developing a training pathway that will lead to a pilot action under which a group of young people will train their seniors in the use of ICTs.

The conference held in Tudela was attended by a total of 13 representatives from the four partner countries. For two days, participants have shared activities and experiences for elderly people to learn how to use these technologies, especially online communication tools such as videoconference or social networks.

The event has also provided the opportunity to lay the foundations for the forthcoming “European Seniors’ Network” that will involve people from all around Europe with the purpose of enabling a better active ageing through the digital inclusion of the elderly.
